Hotels ➜ Golf Hotel Le Betulle ★★★
In 1956, John Stanton Fleming Morrison, an English golf course architect, met for the first time with the owners of the 70 hectares of fields, meadows and woods in and around Magnano. At the time, there were only eleven 18-hole courses in Italy. At the age of sixty-five, John Morrison (1892-1961) was regarded as one of the world champions in golf course design. In the spring and summer of 1967, several new greens were laid out and suggestions were made for improvements to some holes. In the meantime, the construction of an elegant country-style clubhouse and a guest house had begun.
Anyone staying at the Golf Hotel Le Betulle today has the honour of staying in the first golf hotel in Italy. Today's 17 double rooms, which are around 28 square metres in size, all have a terrace and have recently been ‘refreshed’. The restaurant in the Clubhouse and the bar are in typical English style. The cuisine is excellent and wines such as D.O.C.G., Erbaluce di Caluso or D.O.C.: Bramaterra and Lessona, Canavese and Coste della Sesia are served. After your meal, you can chat with friends about your favourite sport in the relaxed atmosphere of the clubhouse with its wooden floors. The Biella course has compared itself over the years with the best of national, continental and even transatlantic golf; it has the privilege of being an excellent challenge for champions and a fair test for players of all levels. If you are looking for a change, the Turin courses Royal Park I Roveri (36 holes) and Torino La Mandria (36 holes) are both within an hour's drive.
