On the Salento peninsula, practically at the very bottom of the heel of the boot, lies the modern and just newly renovated Acaya Golf Resort & Spa. The stylish 4-star hotel offers delicious cuisine, a spacious wellness area and a 5-star superior BVGA golf club. The golf course was designed by the famous American architectural studio, Hurdzan & Fry. The in-house 18-hole championship course is the first golf club in southern Italy to be awarded 5 stars by the BVGA in the international classification of golf courses. 

The modern, elegant resort was built in the early 80s in the typical architectural style of the country. After careful renovation, the whitewashed building presents itself today with generously designed rooms and suites. Each room has either a terrace or a balcony. From June to September, hotel guests can take advantage of the shuttle service to the private beach. This is only about a five-minute drive away. The crystal-clear water invites you to laze around and small delicious snacks and refreshing cocktails can be ordered in the beach bar. Another advantage is offered by the resort's two well-kept outdoor pools: one is reserved "for adults only" and the second is especially for families. 

Two excursions are not to be missed: Lecce - the city is also called "Athens of Apulia" or "Florence of the South". And Otranto, rurally known as the "Gateway to the East", south of the Adriatic Sea, on the Otranto Channel, the strait between Puglia and the Balkans that gives the city its name.
