Metaponto Golf Club, founded in 2000, is nestled in the beautiful Metaponto countryside. Here it is possible to stay in an old farmhouse that has been converted into a clubhouse and is set in the middle of an 80-hectare farm that has been transformed into a magnificent 18-hole championship golf course. It is the second championship course of the Riva dei Tessali Resort and the first in Basilicata, not far from the beautiful town of Matera.

The course, which has been playable since 2002, was designed by architect Marco Croze. It is a par 72 course surrounded by a lush lemon grove and has a very open and long course with wide fairways, undulating greens and water hazards, among the most beautiful holes of the course are hole 7, a 450 m long par 5 with a large lake that lines the fairway up to the green, and hole 14, a 375 m long dogleg par 4 with a second shot downhill and a canal that protects the entrance to the green.
